The answer is simpler than you might think: "Desk-ercise"! That's right, you can get your body moving and boost your energy without even leaving your workspace.  

Why Desk-ercise?

🥊 Combats the Negative Effects of Sitting: Research shows prolonged sitting increases your heart disease risk, obesity, and other health problems.

Boosts Energy and Focus: Quick bouts of exercise can increase your energy levels, improve your mood, and sharpen your focus, making you more productive throughout the day.

🧘 Improves Posture: Many desk exercises help strengthen your core and back muscles, leading to better posture and reducing the risk of back pain.

👍 Plus, it can be done while working, saving time and expensive gym memberships

Easy Desk Exercises

Here are a few simple exercises you can try right now:

  • Leg Extensions: Sit up straight and extend one leg out in front of you, hold for a few seconds, then lower it back down. Repeat with the other leg.  

  • Chair Squats: Stand in front of your chair with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lower yourself towards the chair as if you're going to sit down, but stop just before you touch the seat. Stand back up and repeat.  

  • Calf Raises: Stand up straight and slowly raise up onto your toes, lifting your heels off the ground. Hold for a moment, then lower back down. Repeat several times.  

  • Desk Push-ups: Place your hands shoulder-width apart on the edge of your desk, with your feet a few steps back. Lower your chest towards the desk, then push back up.  

  • Seated Twists: Sit up straight with your feet flat on the floor. Place your hands behind your head and gently twist your torso from side to side.  

Tips for Success

💪 Start Small: Begin with a few repetitions of each exercise and gradually increase as you feel stronger.  

🏃🏻‍♀️Schedule Movement Breaks: Set reminders throughout the day to get up and move around. Even a few minutes each hour can make a big difference.  

🥳 Make it Fun: Put on some music or find a workout buddy to make desk-ercise more enjoyable.
